iPhone security alert: your lock screen can be bypassed!

This YouTube Video shows how you can bypass the iPhone lock screen to make calls and list contacts. You can even browse photos if you attempt to add a photo to a contact.

While you can’t run any apps or do anything other than work with contacts or make phone calls, the facts is that anyone who watches this video can unlock a part of your iPhone without knowing your passcode.

I’m sure Apple will have a fix soon but until then, don’t let that phone go to the wrong hands!

 

iPhone 5 won’t do data while talking

Though I was leaning to NOT get the iPhone 5 (just not enough coolness over the Android competitors like Galaxy S3 for example) this is definitely a deal-killer for me:

On providers like Verizon or Sprint, iPhone 5 will NOT transfer data while you’re on the phone.  (aka simultaneous voice and data).

Put a fork in it.  It’s done. For me.

I’ve had a Sprint EVO 4G (yes, the original one) for 3 years now and even that phone, ancient by today’s standards, can do voice+data (admittedly that only works on 4G data but still, it works).

So, sorry Apple.  I’m looking for an UPGRADE, not a DOWNGRADE.  Android here I come!

iphone 4S battery life problems fixed

The fix is apparently in. Just the other day I was on Rick Hamada’s show (KHVH AM 830) and he asked me about the iPhone 4S problems. I told him there would be a fix right around the corner just based on my experience with these kinds of things. One day later, bam! It’s nice when pure predictions come true.

Unlimited iPhone Data for Sprint: $80/mo

I know many Sprint customers who wanted an iPhone will be happy to know that they can have their unlimited cake for $79.99/mo. This includes 450 minutes. I’ve got a similar plan on Sprint (for my EVO 4G) and because this plan (of mine) has unlimited mobile to mobile minutes AND most of my phone calls are to other mobile phones, I’m usually way under my limit every month. It’s a great deal.

I’ve read other reports saying that Sprint “bet the farm” on the iPhone4s so good luck to them

Apple is clearly the world’s greatest consumer electronics company and today’s unveiling of the new iPhone 4S keeps them on top of all the other players. Key features like full HD 1080p video recording, improved camera, and integration with “Siri” a futuristic gee-whiz feature that acts as a personal assistant to your voice. The demo shot here shows Siri helping me find a Greek restaurant which is pretty cool because I’m Greek! 🙂
