Google Apps finally get Google Plus. Yippie!

I’m a huge fan of Google apps and was continually frustrated in connecting my native Google Apps account to Google Plus. I had to workaround it and use my personal Gmail account. I’m glad that’s over. Google finally enabled Google+ inside Google Apps and business users everywhere are cheering

Got Android? Get GooGoo for Goggles

Google Googles is one of those OMG! apps. You just take a picture of something in public and Google attempts to match the image against its database and provide you more information. It’s quite astounding and an indication of a “virtual assisted reality” future where our sunglasses constantly scan what we’re looking at and continually provides more in-depth information (think Terminator eyes).

Though that feature isn’t quite here yet, you can still get some pretty good functionality with this App. It’s worth the free install if only to try it out and show to your friends. Besides, it also scans QR codes too.

Let’s say that I’m going on vacation, and I decide to use my Android-powered phone as my primary camera. Goggles would identify landmarks, paintings and other interesting objects in my photos. I can share these facts about my vacation with my friends right from my Goggles search history.

Google Docs is down right now

As of this post (9/7/2011 11:13 GMT-10), Google Docs seems to be “completely” down. I can’t access docs.google.com and from the twitter stream, neither can anyone else. Just wanted to post this right now for all to understand that you’re not the only one down!

Strangely enough, Google’s status page says everything is A-OK. I beg to differ!

Android security hole getting patched

Nice job of Google patching up a security hole. Previously, you were exposed to a security hole if you were connecting over an open, unsecured wifi network.

Your Android Phone is probably hackable. Uh oh

I’ve got a Sprint EVO 4G phone myself so this article is of particular interest. I’ve not gone into the details but I will, and I suggest you do too! It seems that there’s a good chance of a security risk if you’re connected to a public, unsecured wifi network. So until this gets fixed, Just Say No to free unsecured wifi and continue using your 3G/4G network for connectivity.

The vast majority of devices running Google’s Android operating system are vulnerable to attacks that allow adversaries to steal the digital credentials used to access calendars, contacts, and other sensitive data stored on the search giant’s servers, university researchers have warned.
